What this is
Each of the three villas is let on its own and is yours entirely — with its own grounds, its own pool and no shared areas. What sets the houses apart is above all where they stand: three villages in the hills behind Rethymno, each with its own character.
All three houses lie away from through roads — among olive groves, vineyards or in a quiet settlement, not on the coastal road.
Each villa has a private pool of between 28 and 35 square metres. At Villa Eos the pool can be heated on request.
Rethymno's old town, the beaches of the north coast and trips as far as the south coast are all within easy reach by car.

The houses
Agia Triada
A natural-stone villa in Cretan style, set quietly in an olive grove with twenty old trees. From both terraces the view runs across the bay of Platanes to the Aegean. Spread over two floors: living room, fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms and two shower rooms.

Loutra
A new build in the traditional village of Loutra, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Traditional architecture meets modern design: the house was built ecologically and on bioclimatic principles. The plot lies away from the roads and is not overlooked — with a sun terrace, a pool terrace and its own garden.

Skouloufia
The smallest of the three houses and the most family-friendly: a villa with its own pool in the quiet settlement of Nea Skouloufia above Skouloufia, looking out across the plain to the Aegean. The generous terrace is where the evening happens — the place to watch the sun go down. Indoors there is a fireplace for cooler evenings and a well-stocked bookshelf. As a base the house works equally well for Rethymno, Heraklion and the south coast.

The area
The three villages lie in the hills behind Rethymno — close enough to the coast for a day at the beach, far enough away for quiet evenings.
A small village on a hill above the coastal plain, set among olive groves, with a wide view over the north coast to the sea. Narrow lanes, stone houses, bougainvillea. The coastal resort of Adelianos Kampos and historic Adele are a few minutes' drive away.
A village with an unusually well-preserved medieval centre, mentioned in Venetian archives as early as the sixteenth century. The name points to historic baths. Cobblestones, solid stone houses, decorated archways and balconies — and about two kilometres to the coast.
The highest of the three villages, further east at an old junction between Arkadi and the ancient city of Eleftherna. In Venetian times it was called Spilufia; it played a part in the Cretan resistance.
A university town with a Venetian harbour and one of the best-preserved old towns on Crete. Tavernas, markets and everything for the everyday shop.
The bay of Platanes and the long sandy beaches east of Rethymno are a few minutes' drive away.
Crete's national shrine, some 23 kilometres from Rethymno on a high plateau — scene of the 1866 uprising.
A stalactite cave with an eventful history, about half an hour's drive east. Easily combined with a visit to Margarites.
A hire car is essential. The houses lie deliberately quiet — you will need a car for shopping, beach trips and excursions. We recommend The Best Cars; our guests receive a small discount there. Just let us know and we will put you in touch.
Your host
Behind the three houses there is no hotel operation and no management agency, but an owner who looks after them himself. Questions before booking, tips on getting there, an earlier check-in or a longer stay: you write directly — and usually have an answer within the hour.
On arrival
The houses are accessed through a key box whose code you receive before you travel. So you arrive when it suits you — even after a delayed flight, without anyone having to wait up for you. We are still reachable at any time via WhatsApp.
A basket is waiting in the kitchen when you arrive: olive oil from the neighbourhood, wine from the area, a handwritten card — and the recipe for dakos, the Cretan dish you will order in every taverna and miss once you are home.
Write to us. An extra bed, a high chair, an earlier check-in, a recommendation for dinner: almost all of it can be arranged if we know in good time.
Book direct
You can book through the portals — many guests do and value the familiar process. Enquiring directly, though, brings a few advantages a portal cannot offer.
The prices in our table are direct rates. Through a portal you pay more for the same night in the same house — the provider's service fee is added on top.
You write to the owner, not to a support form. Questions about getting there, the hire car or the house are answered directly.
